Fox fired up in Netherlands

Fox International Channels (FIC) will launch its main general entertainment channel Fox in the Netherlands in August.

Fox, which is available in 127 countries and 30 languages, will be tailored to an audience aged 12 and over, broadcasting a mixture of original coproductions, acquisitions and news and sport programming.

The channel, which will debut on August 19, will also air hit US series like The Walking Dead, The Simpsons, Da Vinci’s Demons and Ripper Street.

The Dutch version of Fox will be operated by FIC in partnership with Eredivisie Media & Marketing. The channel will be available to subscribers to Ziggo, the local cable operator in which US cable giant Liberty Global bought a 12.65% stake in March.

FIC has already launched 24Kitchen, Foxlife and Nat Geo channels in the country.
