Fleabag, Atlanta duo play Amazon’s Smiths

Amazon Studios has commissioned a scripted series based on the 2005 film Mr & Mrs Smith, with Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) and Donald Glover (Atlanta) set to star.

Mr & Mrs Smith originally starred Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie as a husband and wife each living a secret double life as an assassin. Chaos ensues when they are hired to kill each other.

The new series, which is also titled Mr & Mrs Smith, will star Glover and Waller-Bridge, both of whom co-created the series with Francesca Sloane (Altanta, Fargo).

Showrunner Sloane will exec produce alongside Glover, Waller-Bridge, Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer and Jenny Robins.

Produced by Amazon Studios and New Regency, Mr & Mrs Smith will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
