Federation Studios co-MD Marco Chimenz stepping down after two years

Marco Chimenz is stepping down as co-MD of France’s Federation Studios after two-and-a-half years in the role.

The Paris-headquartered company said Chimenz would not be replaced in the position, with Lionel Uzan assuming the role of sole MD this month. The company continues to be led by CEO Pascal Breton.

Chimenz joined Federation Studios in October 2023 after previously serving as co-CEO of ITV Studios-owned Italian prodco Cattleya.

He arrived at the firm with credits on shows such as ZeroZeroZero, Gomorrah, Suburra and Django. During his time at Cattleya, his duties spanned the Italian market and the prodco’s Spanish affiliate Cattleya Producciones, with Chimenz overseeing overall strategy, internal and external growth and management of business affairs. He previously worked at Italy’s Mediaset and Medusa Film in Los Angeles.

Chimenz, whose next move is not yet known, added: “These two-and-a-half years have been a very interesting experience and a unique chance to work with a dynamic, young and motivated team of executives and producers, to whom I wish all the best.”
