Ex-Telepool exec lands at SevenOne

The former international sales head at German distributor Telepool has taken a role at SevenOne International, where she will seek cofinancing and coproduction partners for new projects.

Irina Ignatiew has been named regional sales director for German-speaking countries at the distributor, which is owned by Red Arrow Entertainment, part of the ProSiebenSat.1 group.

In her new role, she will be responsible for distributing SevenOne’s catalogue and finding coproduction and cofinancing partners for RedArrow and third-party productions.

Ignatiew replaces Bodo Braun, who will leave the company at the end of February after six years.

She left Telepool last October, ahead of the merger of its international sales arm with that of Bavaria Film to create a new global distributor Global Screen, which launched earlier this month.

Previously, she was also head of international distribution at Tandem Communications and a sales manager for Lionsgate.

Ignatiew told C21: “It’s something completely new for me. It’s going to be a challenge but hopefully I will learn a lot.”

Jens Richter, MD of SevenOne, said: “With more than 15 years of international sales experience and a lot of passion for her work, Irina Ignatiew is the perfect fit for this position. Furthermore, I’d like to thank Bodo Braun for his great work and I wish him great success for his future.”

Ignatiew starts work on February 1.
