eOne, Amaze agree first-look pact

Entertainment One (eOne) has signed a three-year first-look deal with Amaze Film and TV, the prodco behind Jason Priestley sitcom Call Me Fitz.

The companies will develop and produce original projects for which eOne will handle worldwide distribution. The projects will range from TV to films that are related to the original television projects produced with Amaze.

“This deal represents eOne’s commitment to working with top creatives to secure premium content for our pipeline in the years ahead,” said Margaret O’Brien, eOne’s president of Canada and chief operating officer.

Amaze, founded by Teza Lawrence and Michael Souther, is into the fourth season of Call Me Fitz, which airs on DirecTV in the US and The Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada. It is distributed by eOne.

The pact with Amaze follows a recent deal between eOne and Hollywood film and TV company Beacon Pictures, under which the companies will develop up to 12 new TV projects annually across all genres.
