Endemol Shine Australia adapts Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars for Nine

Australian broadcaster Nine Network has commissioned three series from Banijay’s Endemol Shine Australia, including a local adaptation of Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars.

Gordon Ramsay

The show sees the British chef mentor and guide competing teams of chefs in order to find the next ‘food star’ to invest in. The Aussie version will be produced by Endemol Shine Australia and Fox Entertainment’s Studio Ramsay Global.

The format began in the UK and has also been picked up by Fox in the US. It is distributed by All3Media International and will launch in Australia next year.

Also in unscripted is brand new original adventure reality format The Summit. Set in the New Zealand Alps, the series will see a group of strangers with a share of US$1m in their backpacks attempt to reach the peak of a distant mountain in just 14 days to win the cash they are carrying.

Along the journey they will need to work as a team as they tackle dangerous terrain and overcome challenges. When members of the group fall behind, the rest of the trekkers will have to decide whether to slow down and risk not making it up the mountain in time, or cut them loose and press ahead. Endemol Shine Australia produces.

The final show, Warnie, is a two-part scripted series about Australian cricket legend Shane Warne. Produced by Banijay’s Screentime, the show will debut in 2023. Banijay Rights handles international distribution.
