Dutch gameshow format The Quiz with Balls lands season two renewal at Fox 

The Quiz with Balls debuted on Fox in May 2024

US broadcaster Fox has renewed gameshow The Quiz with Balls for a second season.

The American version of the series, which is based on a Dutch format, is produced by Eureka Productions and Talpa Studios and hosted by actor and comedian Jay Pharoah (SNL, The Blackening).

The format sees contestants answering a series of questions to avoid being catapulted into a pool by giant yellow balls. Teams must remain as complete as possible for as long as possible. The US version sees families competing US$100,000 cash prize.

It debuted on Fox in May 2024 and was the network’s most-watched new series in the 18-49 demographic.

The format, which blends elements of quizshow and physical competition, has proven to be popular internationally since launching on Holland’s SBS6 in June 2023, with local versions being commissioned in Spain with Atresmedia, Germany with RTL and Argentina via Canal 13.

The US version is executive produced by John de Mol, Maarten Meijs, Chris Culvenor, Paul Franklin, Wes Dening, Judy Smart and showrunner.

Elsewhere a local version has now been commissioned in Uruguay where it has been acquired by Teledoce, the broadcaster that also airs Talpa Studios’ hit show The Floor.
