Doc streamer MagellanTV sets out on search for Other Earths

Global documentary-focused streaming platform MagellanTV is continuing to expand its original programming offering by greenlighting a doc examining new theories about how planets form and evolve.

Other Earths: The Search for Habitable Planets launches today to coincide with National S.T.E.A.M. Day, a US annual holiday dedicated to encouraging kids to explore and pursue interests in science, technology, engineering, art and math. The 4K project tracks a major effort launched by astronomers to identify planets with Earth-like properties.

The doc is directed and co-written by David Sky Brody (Kingdom of Saturn: Cassini’s Epic Quest, Mars Calling) and executive produced and co-written by MagellanTV co-founder Thomas Lucas. It is narrated by British TV presenter Matt Baker.

Since it moved into producing originals around two years ago, MagellanTV has released around 20 original series and films.

Most recently, MagellanTV launched a free ad-supported streaming TV channel dedicated to true crime on The Roku Channel in Canada.
