Discovery+ orders Robert Downey Jr-led factual series from Boat Rocker

Discovery+ has ordered a car-restoration factual series fronted by Robert Downey Jr from Canadian studio Boat Rocker.

In Downey’s Dream Cars (working title), the Iron Man star, a vocal advocate for action on climate change, and a team of experts restore six classic cars to make them more eco-friendly.

The project is produced by Downey Jr’s Team Downey and Boat Rocker’s US-based prodco Matador Content. This marks the second time Team Downey has produced a project for Discovery+.

Downey Jr, Susan Downey and Emily Barclay Ford are executive producers for Team Downey. Other exec producers include Boat Rocker’s R Jay Peterson, Matador Content’s Todd Lubin, Dave Larzelere and Ben Wood. Kyle Wheeler is senior exec producer for Discovery+.
