Dickson sets up label at ITV’s Shiver

The former MD of UK production firm Dragonfly is joining ITV Studios’ factual division Shiver to set up a new label specialising in factual series and formatted documentaries.

Simon Dickson, co-creator of series such as Channel 4’s (C4) One Born Every Minute, will be joined by Sky commissioning editor Lorraine Charker-Phillips, who has been appointed exec producer.

Dickson left Dragonfly, then owned by Shine UK, last April after three years at the company. Before that, he’d been deputy head of documentaries at Channel 4.

Meanwhile, Sky’s Charker-Phillips has been responsible for commissioning and overseeing factual entertainment formats and documentary series at the UK satcaster for the last two years.

Dickson will be creative director at the new label, which will sit within Shiver, and report to Alexander Gardiner, MD of the prodco. Both Dickson and Charker-Phillips will start work in April.

In addition, Shiver creative director Mark Robinson has been promoted to creative director of popular factual. Sally Evans will continue as creative director of development across the entire Shiver label.
