Coogan co-writes US pilot

A US network has ordered a comedy pilot from UK comedian and actor Steve Coogan and his prodco Baby Cow.

The as-yet unnamed pilot, currently in development with CBS, is being written by Coogan, best known for his comic character Alan Partridge, with Men Behaving Badly creator Simon Nye.

It centres on three male characters who have each had a baby with the same woman. It is not known whether Coogan himself will star.

Baby Cow, the UK production company Coogan runs with Henry Normal, is onboard the project. The prodco is also currently working on the pilot of a US remake of its comedy sitcom Gavin & Stacey, alongside BBC Worldwide, for Fox.

Michael Rotenberg (King of the Hill, Everybody Hates Chris) will serve as executive producer.
