Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow

Cineverse’s anime streamer RetroCrush has struck a licensing deal with VIZ Media that will bring titles from major franchises including Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter and Sailor Moon to the service.

For RetroCrush, which is dedicated to content from “the Golden Age of anime,” the deal marks the first time it has acquired content from these franchises.

The additions include films such as Naruto the Movie: Ninja Clash in the Land of Snow, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon R Movie, BLEACH: Hell Verse and Hunter x Hunter: Phantom Rouge, alongside series including Hikaru no Go, Accel World, Captain Tsubasa, Captain Tsubasa: Junior Youth Arc and Vampire Knight. Each of the projects will be available on RetroCrush’s SVoD tier.

San Francisco-based VIZ Media is both a producer and distributor of anime content, as well as a manga publisher.

RetroCrush, which currently carries more than 200 series and features in the US, is available as a standalone app and SVoD offering on Prime Video Channels, Comcast and The Roku Channel. Its FAST channel is carried by platforms including Fubo, Philo, Plex, Pluto TV Canada, Samsung TV Plus, Sling Freestream, TCL+, The Roku Channel, Vizio WatchFree+ and Zone TV.

The agreement was announced as RetroCrush participates in the anime-focused convention Anime NYC.

Cineverse’s portfolio of channels also includes Screambox, Midnight Pulp, AsianCrush, Gorilla Comedy+, Fandor, Dove Channel and Crime Hunters.
