Chello’s Elkington stands down

Long-serving Chellomedia exec Susan Elkington has left the company after more than 12 years to pursue other media interests.

Her departure comes as US cable giant Liberty Global continues with its plans to sell Chellomedia, which serves as its content division.

Elkington was exec VP of content development and acquisitions and programming, film and entertainment at Chellomedia, and oversaw the roll-out of VoD services across a number of the group’s pay TV networks.

Chellomedia chief commercial officer Simon Freer told C21 that Elkington was leaving to “pursue other media interests,” although he was unable to give details.

“I can confirm that Susan Elkington has left Chellomedia after more than a decade working here. She will go on to pursue other interests,” Freer said.

There was still no news regarding suitors for Chellomedia, Freer added. However, Scripps Networks Interactive has reportedly been linked to the sale.

Freer said a decision about whether Elkington would be replaced would be made over the coming months.
