Chatterbox Media hires former Vice exec Rosie Taylor as head of production

UK indie Chatterbox Media has added the head of production for Vice Media Group in Europe to its team as it looks to grow its production slate.

Rosie Taylor

Rosie Taylor has joined the Brighton-based company as head of production and will be responsible for overseeing the company’s growing slate of factual content for broadcasters and platforms, as well as supporting company operations.

Chatterbox was founded in 2017 by former Channel 4 commissioner Nav Raman and popular factual series producer Ali Quirk, to whom Taylor will report.

Taylor’s extensive production experience spans popular factual, documentary and factual features, entertainment, live events, news and current affairs, and digital and mobile content.

Promoted to Vice Media Group’s head of production for Europe in 2020, she originally joined youth-skewing company as head of UK production in 2018, managing output across Vice Studios, digital and news.

Before arriving at Vice, Taylor was production executive at the BBC, where she managed production for factual programmes including Panorama, Newsnight, Watchdog, Rogue Traders and Horizon.

Chatterbox titles include Leaving Care (BBC iPlayer), Meet The Khans (BBC Three), Not Just a Boy in a Dress (CBBC), Changing the Face of Beauty (CBBC), Dance of My Life (CBBC), Sally Lindsay’s Posh Sleepover (Channel 5), Extraordinary Portraits (BBC One) and Charlotte in Sunderland (BBC Three).

Quirk said: “The head of production role is crucial in enabling us to fulfil our ambitions, making sure we have everything in place to support both our creative process and our team as we grow. Rosie is one of the most talented production leads in the UK and her approach puts people first in everything she does.

“She has not only overseen some of TV’s biggest projects and programming brands, she is one of the best company operations leads around. We are delighted to welcome Rosie to the team. Her wealth of experience will be a great asset as we continue to transform and grow.”

Taylor added: “Chatterbox is an indie that has diversity at its heart and is committed to giving opportunities to creatives, whatever their background, race, age or gender identity. As well as working with a wonderful team, I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to work on programming that is truly different and am really looking forward to supporting Chatterbox in its growth.”
