NEWS BRIEF: US broadcaster CBS has renewed drama series The Equalizer for a fifth season.

Starring Queen Latifah, The Equalizer is a reboot of the 1980s series of the same name and follows an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her skills as a former CIA operative to help those with nowhere else to turn. CBS Studios produces with Universal Studio Group’s Universal Television. The reboot launched in 2021.
