Catalyst and Cambium join forces

Two veteran Canadian production-distribution outfits, Catalyst Entertainment and Cambium Entertainment, have merged to form a new joint company, Cambium Catalyst International (CCI).

Cambium ceo Arnie Zipursky will assume the role of chairman and ceo of the new entity, while Catalyst president Nancy Chapelle has been named the new company’s president.

Catalyst ceo Charles Falzon will remain on the board of directors, but will now be able turn his attention to concentrate on his role as president of Gullane Entertainment, Catalyst's international affiliate.

The merger will see all aspects of the companies combined, including each entity's international television catalogues. Cambium's kids' properties include live-action kids music/entertainment series Sharon, Lois & Bram's Elephant Show, and animated series Monster by Mistake and Nilus the Sandman.

Catalyst productions include animated series such as Eckhart; and a roster of lifestyle properties as part of its Gourmet Excursion brand; Avventura, Journeys in Italian Cuisine and Entrada, Journeys in Latin American Cuisine.
