Canal+ sails off with Pernel’s Viking docu-drama

Rise of the Vikings centres on specific Viking leaders over 80 years

NEWS BRIEF: French pay TV operator Canal+ has commissioned a docu-drama series retelling the true stories of the Vikings and the key events that transformed Northern Europe from Pernel Media.

Each 4×60’ episode of Rise of the Vikings (Vikings, les Premiers Rois) explores a specific clash for power from the viewpoint of a famous Viking leader across a timeline of 80 years. Executive producer for Pernel Media is Samuel Kissous, while Franck Appietto commissioned the series for Canal+ channel C8 and Benoît Illes for Planète+.
