Canal+ Group taps Audrey Brugère for role focusing on literary adaptations

French broadcaster Canal+ Group has appointed its director of programming for foreign and youth series as executive VP for literary adaptations.

Audrey Brugère

Audrey Brugère, who has been with Vivendi-owned Canal+ Group since 2009, will start her new position on September 1 and report to Anna Marsh, CEO at StudioCanal.

Brugère will work with the group’s subsidiaries, which include production and distribution arm StudioCanal, pay TV service Canal+ and publisher Editis, on potential collaborations.

It comes after Brugère was appointed to her current role in 2020, prior to which she had served as head of Canal+ Group’s youth department since 2017.

Brugère began her career as a consultant at strategy consulting firm Bain & Company before joining Canal+ Group as head of strategic marketing.

Marsh said: “Increasing the adaptation of successful literary works into films, series or documentaries is one of StudioCanal’s ambitions for the coming years, as proved by the creation of this position. Audrey’s experience within the Canal+ Group, as well as her knowledge of our activities, will be a valuable asset in achieving this.”
