Canadian streaming service JustWatchMe.tv is bulking up its content offering through a raft of licensing deals, including a new pact with the National Film Board of Canada.

The streamer also revealed new licensing deals with Toronto-based distributor LevelFILM, US-based distributor Shoreline Entertainment and distribution label Canadian International Pictures.

Titles joining the service include classic Canadian films such as Mon oncle Antoine, Nobody Waved Goodbye, The Bitter Ash, Project Grizzly and The Boys of St Vincent, in addition to more contemporary films including 2021 feature Scarborough.

The Peanut Butter Falcon, The Assistant and The Last Black Man in San Francisco are among the US titles joining the service as part of the deals, in addition to documentaries featuring Coldplay, David Bowie, Oasis, and Bob Marley.

The streaming service, launched last year by Canadian outfit Capital Motion Picture Group, is offered both as an ad-free subscription service for C$4.99 (US$3.70) a month and a free ad-supported tier.

“We’re looking forward to growing our audiences through the curation of bold, international fare and the best of Canadian cinema alike,” said founder and MD Michael Dobbin.

“With innovative features such as JustWatchMe Pop-Up Cinema, audiences can not only watch and recommend their favourites but can even host a community-driven screening at their local cinema or their own pop-up venues.”
