C5 reboots You Are What You Eat

The original You Are What You Eat was fronted by Gillian McKeith

ViacomCBS-owned UK terrestrial Channel 5 is rebooting healthy-eating format You Are What You Eat, which originally aired on rival network Channel 4.

Red Arrow Studios-backed UK prodco CPL Productions is working on a 6×60’ reboot of the show, fronted by talkshow host Trisha Goddard.

In the format, a team of experts as motivate two unhealthy eaters to change their lifestyles and become the healthiest versions of themselves.

In the revamped version, the experts will not simply be looking at weight loss, but also factors including sleep and anxiety, to determine a healthy lifestyle.

The format, distributed internationally by Sony Pictures Television, originally aired four seasons on C4 between 2004 and 2007, presented by Gillian McKeith.

Nick Knowles

In related news, C5 has commissioned two home-improvement series hosted by Nick Knowles.

Nick Knowles: Your Life on Your Lawn (6×60’, working title) follows Knowles (Real Rescue, Home is Where the Art Is) as he helps families living in cluttered houses by completely reorganising their homes.

Nick Knowles’ Home Improvements (3×60’, w/t) will see Knowles immersed in a significant improvement job while offering homeowners tricks and practical advice on storage, space and organisation.

Knowles said: “I think people will love the series, which will be useful, inspirational and in tune with how people are feeling about their homes coming out of lockdown. We are determined it will be a lot of fun too.”

Nick Knowles: Your Life on Your Lawn was commissioned by Guy Davies and will be executive produced by Oliver Wright, the newly appointed head of factual and features at Viacom International Studios UK.

Nick Knowles’ Home Improvements was commissioned by Greg Barnett and will be produced by Ten66 Television, its first full series commission for C5.
