C4 takes the train with Julie Walters

UK broadcaster Channel 4 has commissioned a four-part series that sees Oscar-nominated across Julie Walters travel on some of the UK’s most famous coastal railway routes.

Britain’s Coastal Railways with Julie Walters (working title) will follow the actress, who starred in C4’s drama series Indian Summers, across a variety of landscapes, including Scottish beaches and Cornish fishing villages.

The series, from Alaska TV, was commissioned for Channel 4 by head of features Gill Wilson.

Rich Evans and Paul Sommers are exec producing and the series producer is Nicky Waltham.
