Breakthrough pumps up with Tyre

Canadian studio Breakthrough Entertainment has appointed a former Teletoon executive as its senior director of international sales and acquisitions.

Caroline Tyre will manage sales for the studio’s premium content in Europe, Oceania and South America.

She will report to VP of distribution Craig McGillivray, who said: “We are confident that Caroline’s strengths will augment our team as we continue to forge new relationships and seek out ground breaking content that is emerging worldwide.”

Tyre, a 19-year industry veteran, was formerly head of business development at D360, the distribution arm of Canadian prodco Marblemedia, which she joined in 2013.

She was also previously an acquisitions consultant for eOne, as well as director of programming for Canuck broadcaster Teletoon. Before that, Tyre worked as a sales manager at Canadian pubcaster CBC and as a sales executive at DHX Media.
