Big Bad Boo names production VP

New York- and Vancouver-based animation prodco Big Bad Boo Studios has promoted its production manager to VP of production.

Paddy Gillen has two decades’ experience developing and producing live-action and animated series. At Big Bad Boo, which she joined eight years ago, she is credited with managing company projects like Teletoon and Disney Channel’s 1001 Nights, TVOKids’ 16 Hudson, Lili & Lola for SVoD service Oznoz and Hulu’s The Bravest Knight.

Prior to joining Big Bad Boo, Gillen co-founded and ran Toolshed Productions. Other previous positions include head of production at Atomic Cartoons and production manager at The Embassy VFX.

In her new role, Gillen will be responsible for managing and expanding Big Bad Boo’s current shows in production. According to the company, Gillen’s promotion comes as it looks to bolster its production arm by branching out from 2D animation to 3D and live action.
