BBC2 in the UK has ordered a new series profiling entrepreneurs living in rural Britain from London-based prodco 7 Wonder.

Back to the Land (3×60’) is 7 Wonder’s second show for the channel and explores the wave of entrepreneurs, farmers and manufacturers starting up businesses in the rural economy.

Sarah Trigg, exec producer at 7 Wonder, said the show “is a factual format, which touches on elements of history, geography and tradition. But what really brings it to life is the reality element of witnessing these incredible and aspirational people doing what they love to keep the countryside alive.”

7 Wonder is backed by Australia’s Seven Network and its launch followed the formation of the 7Beyond joint venture between the Aussie operator and Beyond International.

It made a flurry of senior appointments in February including execs poached from UK firms Boomerang and Nerd TV.
