NEWS BRIEF: UK pubcaster BBC1 has picked up hour-long documentary Strictly Amy: Crohn’s & Me, which aired on BBC Wales last year, from Welsh prodco Wildflame Productions.

Ahead of this year’s season of Strictly Come Dancing, the show gives access to Welsh dancer Amy Dowden, who has appeared in three seasons of the dancing format. At 19, Dowden was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease and is frequently hospitalised and caused pain by the condition. The programme follows her as she speaks to fellow sufferers and has to shield during the pandemic.
