BBC alum Claire Pugh-Williams takes head of production role at Storyvault Films

Sky Arts’ long-running Portrait Artist of the Year

Former BBC and Nutopia executive Claire Pugh-Williams has been appointed to the newly created role of head of production at London-based prodco Storyvault Films.

Pugh-Williams will report to director of production David Buckley and will head production of Storyvault’s two flagship series for UK cultural channel Sky Arts: Portrait Artist of the Year and Landscape Artist of the Year.

When she starts the role next week she will work with the creative team to further develop both series and formats as they enter their second decade in production.

With more than 20 years of industry experience, Pugh-Williams joins from production management company Nest Productions, where she served as production executive for almost two years.

Her previous jobs include production manager for hit motoring format Top Gear at the BBC, where she worked for four years, various production roles at Prospero Productions and line producer at Nutopia.

Pugh-Williams’ credits include Chris Hemsworth’s documentary series Limitless (National Geographic, Disney+), Will Australia Ever Have a Black Prime Minister? (Foxtel, SBS, ABC), Martin Clunes: Islands of Australia (ITV) and Outback Opal Hunters (Discovery).

Formed in 2009, Storyvault’s programming includes Write Around the World with Richard E Grant (BBC), The Football Club (Channel 4) and Mediterranean with Adrian Chiles (BBC)
