Australia’s ABC, Germany’s ZDF venture into Super Happy Magic Forest

Super Happy Magic Forest focuses on five heroes

Australian pubcaster the ABC and German counterpart ZDF have pre-bought Super Happy Magic Forest, the forthcoming animation series from Banijay Kids & Family prodcos Tiger Aspect Kids & Family and Movimenti Production.

The show’s original broadcaster partners are BBC in the UK and Rai Kids in Italy, while Banijay Kids & Family’s sales division Zodiak Kids & Family Distribution previously sealed a pre-sale with Canal+ in France.

The 52×11′ series is a comedy quest adventure featuring five heroes brought together by their mutual love of questing, picnics and frolicking. Super Happy Magic Forest is based on the picture books of the same name by Matty Long, which were first published by Oxford University Press in 2015.

The series director is Ruth Ducker (Oddbods, Floogals), with Georgia Dussaud (Best & Bester, Watership Down) as series producer and Ciaran Murtagh and Andrew Barnett Jones (Mr Bean: The Animated Series, Ninja Express) as head writers.

The exec producers are Tiger Aspect Kids & Family MD Tom Beattie (Mr Bean: The Animated Series, Corpse Talk) and Jeff Marsh (Phineas & Ferb, Milo Murphy’s Law).
