AMC revamps Chello MD’s roles

AMC Networks (AMCN) has shuffled the exec pack at recently-acquired Chellomedia by expanding the remit of one of its European MDs.

Eduardo Zulueta, who heads up Chello Multicanal, will now also oversee Chello Latin America and divide his time between the firm’s Madrid-, Buenos Aires- and Miami-based offices.

Chello Multicanal operates thematic TV channels in Europe, with networks distributed in Spain and Portugal including Canal Hollywood, Canal Panda, Canal Cocina and Odisea.

Chello Latin America operates channels distributed primarily throughout Latin America, including MGM, Casa Club TV, El Gourmet and Europa Europa.

Its previous head, Alejandro Harrison, becomes president of business development for AMCN Chellomedia, which was created after AMCN’s US$1bn takeover of the business from cable giant Liberty Global in February.

Harrison’s responsibilities will include expanding AMCN Chellomedia’s content into new territories and onto new platforms and identifying merger and acquisition opportunities. He will continue to be based in Buenos Aires.

Both Zulueta and Harrison will also continue to report to Ed Carroll, AMCN chief operating officer, who said the duo would help the firm “to align and expand our global operations.”

Following the takeover last month, AMCN Chellomedia’s operating businesses now include Chello Central Europe; Chello Latin America; Chello Multicanal; Chello Zone; advertising sales unit Atmedia; and the broadcast solutions unit Chello DMC.
