AMC expands Tuchman’s role

AMC Networks has extended the remit of AMC/Sundance Channel Global president Bruce Tuchman, giving him oversight of the company’s MGM Channel.

In addition to his current role overseeing AMC/Sundance Channel Global, Tuchman takes on the responsibility of leading the programming, marketing and strategic development of MGM Channel Global. His official title is now president of AMC/Sundance Channel Global and MGM Channel Global.

The channel is programmed and distributed in multiple languages and reaches over 130 countries and territories.

His appointment follows AMC Networks’ US$1bn takeover of cable giant Liberty Global’s Chellomedia content business in February.

Responsibility for sales, scheduling and operations at MGM Channel will remain with the AMCN Chellomedia business units that currently operate the channel: Chello Central Europe, Chello Latin America, Chello Multicanal and Chello Zone.

Tuchman will coordinate with these divisions and work with them to develop the MGM Channel brand.

He will continue to be based in AMC Networks’ corporate headquarters in New York and will report to Ed Carroll, AMC Networks’ chief operating officer.
