AMC+, BritBox among five SVoDs offered as part of ‘milestone’ Amazon bundle

Amazon’s Prime Video is extending its aggregation strategy with the launch of a new five-service SVoD bundle in the US.

The bundle will feature AMC+, BritBox, MGM+, PBS Masterpiece and Starz and cost US$29.99 a month, which the company said equates to a 39% saving on the total cost of the individual services.

According to Amazon, this marks the first time five streaming services have been offered in a single bundle.

The offering will bring together AMC+ shows such as The Vampire Lestat and The Walking Dead: Dead City with BritBox’s The Other Bennet Sister and Ludwig, MGM+’s upcoming drama American Hostage, PBS Masterpiece’s All Creatures Great and Small and Starz’s Outlander: Blood of My Blood.

The launch comes as Disney+, Netflix and Peacock begin to make noise about also pursuing an aggregation-focused strategy, whereby they will host and sell other SVoD subscriptions within their own standalone streaming offerings. Netflix is already involved through its partnership with TF1, though that deal sees the French broadcaster being offered for free within Netflix’s French service, rather than as a paid add-on.
