AMC+ acquires US rights to Catherine Zeta-Jones thriller Kill Jackie

Kill Jackie is coproduced by Steel Springs Pictures and Fremantle

AMC Global Media-owned streamer AMC+ has picked up the exclusive US rights to Kill Jackie, the revenge thriller series starring and executive produced by Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The eight-episode project, coproduced by Steel Springs Pictures and Fremantle, will launch on AMC+ in the fall.

Co-created by Conor Keane (North Sea Connection), Tom Butterworth (Gangs of London), Peter Lawson (John Wick) and Damon Thomas (Killing Eve), the project follows a woman who has spent 20 years living a quiet life selling fine art while remaining anonymous after escaping a criminal past. But her world is shattered when she discovers that a squad of ruthless assassins called The Seven Demons has been hired to kill her.

It is based on The Price You Pay, a 2018 novel by Nick Harkaway, the son of John le Carré writing under the pen name Aidan Truhen.

The show was commissioned by Prime Video last year, with the Amazon-owned streamer taking rights in the UK, Ireland, Canada, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Turkey, Liechtenstein and Luxembourg. Steel Springs Pictures co-manages US rights, with Fremantle selling the show in other territories.

Executive producers are Lawson and Jose Agustin Valdes for Steel Springs Pictures, as well as Butterworth, Thomas, Zeta-Jones, Rebecca Dundon, Dante Di Loreto and Jeffrey Levine. Harkaway is an executive consultant.

In addition to Zeta-Jones, the cast includes Daniel Ings, Sidse Babett Knudsen, Bill Paterson, Ron Perlman, Óscar Jaenada, Hattie Hook, Darci Shaw and Raff Law, among others.
