Amazon, Pantaya commit to swinging series

El Juego de las Llaves (The Game of Keys)

Amazon Prime Video and Lionsgate-backed Spanish-language streamer Pantaya have greenlit second and third seasons of comedy series El Juego de las Llaves (The Game of Keys).

The series follows the lives of four long-term friends and couples who decide to give the world of swinging a try and are faced with the impact it has on their lives and friendships. The first season debuted in August 2019, with the second expected to launch later this year.

The new seasons will screen exclusively on Amazon Prime Video in Mexico and more than 200 other territories, while Pantaya will premiere the show in the US and Puerto Rico.

The Game of Keys was created by Marisa Quiroga and developed by Patrick McGinley, Veronica Bellver and Sandro Halphen. Pantaya and Corazón Films will produce the new seasons, with Kenya Marquez, Javier Colinas and Roberto Fiesco directing and Eckehardt von Damm, Roberto Fiesco and Sandro Halphen serving as producers.

James Farrell, VP of international originals at Amazon Studios, said: “The first season of El Juego de las Llaves broke the mould by bringing the taboo topic of modern-day swinging into the social conversation, adding new depth and perspectives on how we approach relationships and commitment. Audiences are not going to want to miss the new seasons of the series as the story takes us even further into the world of ethical non-monogamy.”

The deal comes off the back of Amazon ordering four new local original series from Argentina, Chile and Colombia last week.
