Alchimie forges Millimages, Trace execs

French digital distribution and content aggregation outfit Alchimie has appointed Millimages and Trace TV execs to its senior management team.

Timothée Vidal

Frédéric Rossignol and Timothée Vidal have joined the company as chief content officer and chief entertainment and distribution officer, respectively. Both positions have been created to reinforce Alchimie’s recent growth and provide a basis for future expansion and development.

Rossignol will shoulder overall editorial control of the company’s portfolio of subscription-based channels, identify content partnerships with producers and rights owners, and develop new channels to serve new and existing audiences.

Prior to joining Alchimie, he was head of acquisitions and aggregation at French animation firm Millimages. He is the founder of production outfit Rossworks and has previously held senior positions at Banijay and Lagardère Studios.

Vidal brings 15 years’ marketing experience to Alchimie, having worked at firms including L’Oreal in Asia Pacific and Danone in France. He will be tasked with building on and promoting current content projects and negotiating strategic partnerships and content rights across multiple platforms. He will also maintain and develop new channels and channel brands to increase distribution, subscriptions and revenues. He joins Alchimie from Trace TV, where he was VP of distribution and development.

“Alchimie has created an exciting new model that leverages existing programmes and other content. It provides revenue-share rights for the content owners by creating and distributing popular SVoD channels to any platform,” said Rossignol. “The company has developed extensive relationships with commercial mobile networks and other platforms all over the world, as well as a rapidly growing network of production companies and other content owners.”
