Aggregator Struum adds content from wildlife channel Love Nature to US line-up

Love Nature’s programming includes Wild 24

Struum, the streaming aggregator founded by a team of former Disney and Discovery executives, has added content from wildlife and nature channel Love Nature to its line-up in the US.

Love Nature joins more than 60 services and content owners on the app, which allows subscribers to access series and movies from a roster of niche streaming services.

As part of the deal, Love Nature’s nature and wildlife series and documentaries will be available to Struum subscribers. These include Deadly Australians, Extreme Animal Babies, Hope for Wildlife, Shark Squad and Wild 24.

The move comes after Struum raised US$7m from an investor group led by Canadian broadcaster Corus Entertainment towards the end of 2021.

Struum is backed by a multimillion-dollar investment from former Disney CEO Michael Eisner through his Tornante Company. It was founded by execs including Lauren DeVillier, former head of product for Discovery Ventures and head of digital for Disney Channels, and Paul Pastor, former executive VP of strategy, revenue and operations at Discovery Networks.

“Struum’s unique, credit-based subscription service has been picking up momentum among major media players in the streaming space as a means of connecting great content with audiences who are hungry for new programming,” said Carlyn Staudt, global general manager at Love Nature.

“Partnering with Struum aligns Love Nature with dozens of premium content services and continues our strategy to expand the reach and discoverability of Love Nature to US audiences through new and emerging OTT platforms.”

Kerry Ball, global head of content partnerships and distribution at Struum, said: “Love Nature’s unique content is an excellent addition to our platform, which has added a diverse array of new streaming services and libraries over the last few months.”
