Africa’s Circus achieves Breakthrough

Silly Seasons

Silly Seasons was South Africa’s first motion-capture animated series

Johannesburg-based animation studio The Flying Circus has signed a distribution deal with Canadian studio Breakthrough Entertainment.

The agreement will see Breakthrough take sales rights to fantasy animated series Silly Seasons (26×24’), a comedy targeting kids aged 8-12, in North America.

The show centres on four girls living in the fantasy world of Sillyville, inhabited by a wacky and colourful cast of eccentric plants and animals.

Andre van der Merwe, animation producer at The Flying Circus, said the show – South Africa’s first motion-capture animated series – “is fun, energetic and unique, and we are confident it will appeal to kids in North America.”
