ABC orders more Food Revolution

ABC in the US has ordered a second helping of UK celebrity chef Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution.

The fat-fighting format from Oliver’s Fresh One and Ryan Seacrest Productions has proved a ratings winner for ABC, with the first season leading its 21.00 Friday slot and averaging 5.5 million viewers.

The series is loosely based on UK series Jamie’s Ministry of Food and Jamie’s School Dinners, which attempted to change the eating habits of British school children and their families.

The US show sees Oliver trying to help people of all ages improve their diets by learning to cook and choosing fresh food over processed in schools, homes, workplaces and restaurants.

Food Revolution walked away with the Emmy for outstanding reality series last weekend.
