Netflix, Televisa bag Bakugan

Bakugan

Netflix and Televisa are among the international outlets to have picked up multiple seasons of rebooted anime franchise Bakugan from Corus Entertainment-owned children’s outlet Nelvana.

The first two seasons of the new version of the show – Bakugan: Battle Planet (100×11’) and Bakugan: Armored Alliance (104×11’) – have been acquired by Mexican broadcaster Televisa and Netflix for the US and Canada.

The first season has been bagged by Croatia’s Talent Show, while Pop in the UK, Australia’s 9Go!, Dreamia in Portugal, Nelonen Media in Finland and Serbia’s Dexy Co have all acquired the second run.

Bakugan was revived last year after originally airing for four seasons from 2007 to 2012.

The new version of the anime adventure series follows the adventures of Dan Kouzo and his best friends as the first kids on Earth to bond with mysterious alien creatures known as Bakugan. The fate of two planets rests in the hands of this new breed of Bakugan trainers.
