MediaPro, Vice link for Patagonia thriller

The Argentinian/Chilean arm of Spain’s The MediaPro Studio is coproducing a crime thriller set in Patagonia with Vice Studios, the production arm of the US media outfit.

Called El Acantilado (The Cliff), the series is inspired by the real-life Aysén case, involving the deaths of several young men in Patagonia, the South American region that straddles Argentina and Chile, between 1997 and 2001.

The story takes place in a small town rocked by the suicides of several teenagers, behind whose deaths lies a heinous crime with political consequences.

Nacho Gil will serve as executive producer along with executive coproducers Maximiliano Sanguine and Jimena Hernandez.
