Keshet’s Boom! stripped in Philippines

MIPTV: Filipino prodco Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) has picked up format rights to Keshet International (KI) gameshow Boom!.

TAPE is making a daily stripped-back version (78×20’) to air as a segment within GMA Networks’ hit lunchtime TV variety show Eat Bulaga!. The latter has been on air since 1979, making it the country’s longest-running lunchtime variety show.

Boom!, which was created by Keshet, Ido Rosenblum and July August Productions, has sold to 13 countries, led by Antena 3 in Spain, where it has aired more than 500 episodes so far.

Boom! is also currently on air on MCOT in Thailand, Nove in Italy, Azteca in Mexico and SBT in Brazil, where it forms part of popular local variety show Programa Silvio Santos.

The format sees contestants completing intellectual and physical challenges against a clock displayed on a ‘bomb’ in the middle of the studio.
