IMDb links with Grammer for scripted first

Boss

Kelsey Grammer in Boss

Amazon-owned online film and television information database IMDb has begun work on its first scripted series, an animated show starring and exec produced by Kelsey Grammer.

You’re Not a Monster will see Grammer, Eric Stonestreet, Aparna Nancherla, Ellie Kemper, Patton Oswalt, Amy Sedaris and others voice iconic movie monsters.

Set to debut on IMDb TV’s free streaming video channel this autumn, the 10-episode shortform series joins other IMDb original series including The IMDb Show, IMDbrief and Casting Calls.

Grammer voices a former psychiatrist-turned-vampire in the series, who mentors his great-great grandson, a therapist who has inherited his practice.

In each four- to five-minute episode, classic monsters including Frankenstein, The Invisible Man and Medusa are treated as they seek desperately needed therapy.

The comedy series is created and written by Frank Lesser (The Colbert Report), with Lily Stuart Streiff as animation director. It is being produced for IMDb by Bold Soul Studios, Grammer’s Grammnet Productions and Ranker in LA.

Grammer has previously voiced popular characters in projects including Gary the Rat, Storks and Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, as well as playing Sideshow Bob in The Simpsons across several decades.
