ID, Netflix examine McCann disappearance

Investigation Discovery (ID) in the US and Netflix are both gearing up to launch separate projects about the disappearance of British girl Madeline McCann in 2007.

Global streamer Netflix will debut its project, The Disappearance of Madeline McCann, first, launching it on Friday despite opposition from the missing child’s family.

The eight hour-long episodes are produced by London-based Pulse Films and have reportedly faced multiple delays.

ID, meanwhile, will begin airing its two-part miniseries Madeleine McCann: An ID Murder Mystery on April 7.

Both projects explore the night when Kate and Gerry McCann’s three-year-old daughter vanished from their hotel room in Portugal just yards from where they were dining.

Madeleine McCann: An ID Murder Mystery is produced for ID by American Media and Jupiter Entertainment. It marks the latest instalment in ID’s Murder Mystery franchise and features interviews with members of law enforcement, the McCann’s legal team and criminal experts and journalists.
