Geronimo Stilton added to menu

MIPCOM: A new animated series of Geronimo Stilton is in production following a copro deal between Italian production and distribution company Atlantyca Entertainment and French prodco Superprod.

The 26×22’ series, called The New adventures of Geronimo Stilton, about a mouse journalist, features faster-moving storylines and has the backing of Italian pubcaster Rai.

Atlantyca has also secured a handful of broadcaster pre-sales, including ARD and KiKa in Germany, Nickelodeon for Belgium and the Netherlands and Canal Panda in Portugal.

Seasons one and two of Geronimo Stilton have been sold into more than 130 countries. The series also premiered in the US earlier this year on DVD, distributed by eOne Entertainment.

Caterina Vacchi, head of animation and executive produce at Atlantyca Entertainment, said the new series marked “a truly a new chapter in Geronimo Stilton’s adventures… to continue building on the success of Geronimo’s thriving global brand with a new whole animated production.”
