DR1 opens Old People’s Home

DR’s version of Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds debuts this month

Danish pubcaster DR has commissioned a local version of format Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds from Red Arrow Studios-owned prodco Snowman Productions.

The four-part series sees seven senior residents of a Danish care home brought together with eight four-year-olds for six weeks. The show is set to premiere on DR1 on November 6.

Red Arrow Studios International distributes the format to Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds worldwide, with local versions commissioned in 13 territories including Spain, the Netherlands, Israel, Australia and Germany. New territories recently announced include France, Sweden and Portugal.

The format originated in the UK where it was commissioned by Channel 4.

In October, Snowman announced the launch of new development label Snowman Global as part of its efforts to expand into international development and production.

It will work with broadcasters and prodcos worldwide, including Red Arrow outfits, to develop formats and help Red Arrow Studios International retain rights to properties globally. Snowman is currently looking for production partners in selected territories.
