Discover.film shortform joins My5

ViacomCBS-owned Channel 5 in the UK has agreed a content partnership deal with discover.film to bring shortform content to its My5 streaming platform for the first time.

Farming comedy Edmund the Magnificent

The discover.film programming to be made available on My5 includes movies, entertainment programming, feel-good comedies, drama and sci-fi and will be refreshed on a monthly basis.

Titles will include animated series Take Rabbit, UK comedy Edmund the Magnificent, political satire Capital and three-part drama Then & Now.

“We’re always looking for ways to evolve My5 and increase the wealth of choice available to viewers,” said Oli Thomas, VP, digital lead at Channel 5.

Sarah Thomson, CEO and co-founder of discover.film, said the deal follows similar agreements with partners including Huawei, British Airways, Qatar Airways, American Airlines, Emirates and Air Canada.

My5 features programming drawn from Channel 5 as well as third-party content from partners such as Blaze, BET, PBS America, Real Stories, Together TV and Timeline, in genres including history, scripted drama, reality, documentaries and comedy.
