MGM+’s Michael Wright to unpack fandom strategy in Magnificent Seven case study at Content London

Wright leads MGM+, an ad-free premium streaming service featuring original series and docuseries, theatrical releases and classic film franchises. He oversees the expansion of MGM+’s worldwide slate across scripted, unscripted and acquired programming, as well as creative, marketing and strategic partnerships.
Since joining MGM+ in 2017, Wright has transformed the business, expanding distribution, launching the MGM+ app to enter the OTT space, tripling original programming and more than doubling the subscriber base. Under his leadership, MGM+ has become a destination for premium original series including sci-fi horror phenomenon From, Emmy winner Godfather of Harlem, horror thriller The Institute, romantic adventure series Robin Hood and crime drama The Westies.

The Magnificent Seven

Kring has created and run numerous TV series in his four-decade career as a writer and producer in Hollywood, including Crossing Jordan (NBC), Touch (Fox), Dig (USA Network), Treadstone (Amazon), based on Robert Ludlum’s Bourne saga, and Heroes, which won numerous awards, including a Primetime Emmy.
Kring has also produced groundbreaking work in branded content. In 2010, he teamed with Nokia to launch Conspiracy for Good, which was nominated for an International Digital Emmy. In 2013, he launched Daybreak in partnership with AT&T, a multiplatform narrative using linear distribution and a suite of mobile applications.

Donald De Line

De Line is a veteran producer and studio executive currently executive producing MGM+’s upcoming series The Magnificent Seven. He most recently served as executive producer on the three-season run of Billy the Kid for MGM+.
Prior feature credits include Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, The Italian Job and Ridley Scott’s Body of Lies. His television credits include Fox’s Wayward Pines, M Night Shyamalan’s first television series, and MGM+ limited series Chapelwaite, adapted from a Stephen King novella and starring Adrien Brody.

Joanne Froggatt
Actor

Froggatt is a Golden Globe and British Independent Film Award winner and three-time Emmy nominee, widely recognised for her performance as Anna Bates in the global phenomenon Downton Abbey. She reprised her signature role in the cinematic trilogy, which collectively grossed more than US$389m worldwide.
Froggatt is currently filming the high-stakes MGM+ frontier series The Magnificent Seven alongside Matt Dillon, starring as Harriet Talbot. She will next star in the return of Paramount+ drama series MobLand, from director Guy Ritchie, which follows the conflict between two rival London crime families.
