Key execs from ITV, VRT and DR join speaker line-up for Content Europe in Lisbon next April

ITV’s Darren Nartey, VRT’s Els Roovers and DR’s Morten Skov are among the latest executives confirmed to speak at Content Europe 2027, bringing perspectives from across international acquisitions, entertainment formats and children’s programming to the Lisbon event.

The international execs will contribute to an expanded five-track conference programme spanning Formats, Drama, Documentary, Kids and Content Trends, offering insight into the strategies, challenges and opportunities shaping the global content business. The programme sits alongside a cost-effective marketplace designed to facilitate meetings, networking and deal-making.

Returning to Lisbon following a successful inaugural edition, Content Europe will bring the international content community together for three days of conference sessions and networking, creating a focused environment to explore the opportunities and challenges shaping the global television industry.

Nartey leads the strategic licensing, sourcing and negotiation of third-party programming across the broadcaster’s linear channels – including ITV1, ITV2, ITVBe, ITV3 and ITV4 – and its streaming service, ITVX.
With more than 10 years’ experience in UK commercial broadcasting, Nartey has built a reputation for sharp deal-making instincts, editorial flair and strong partnerships with major international studios and distributors. Central to ITV’s scripted acquisition strategy, he focuses on securing high-calibre, conversation-starting drama that bridges the gap between mass-market linear viewing and digital-first streaming demand. Recent pickups include Irish crime thriller The Galway Bay Murders, starring Kate Mulgrew and Colm Meaney, and Nordic-noir mystery The Last to Disappear.

Els Roovers
Head of entertainment and formats
VRT
Roovers is responsible for strategic management and commissioning of the entertainment portfolio at Flemish public broadcaster VRT, with a clear focus on innovation, public value and internationalisation. She has more than 25 years’ senior experience across the media industry, specialising in development, factual entertainment strategy, format adaptation, IP acquisition and licensing. At VRT, she oversees the identification, nurturing and implementation of new formats, ensuring the broadcaster remains competitive in a highly dynamic market.

Morten Skov
Head of children’s and youth content
DR
Skov oversees external productions, animation, partnerships and digital games at DR in Denmark. He has held the role for the past 10 years and has led the launch of several key initiatives, including DR Minisjang and FredagsTamTam.
