AI Festival Screenings at Content London to showcase cutting-edge work from leading creators

The AI Festival Screenings at Content London will showcase a cross section of AI-generated films and hear from the creators about the craft behind them.

Taking place during lunchtime on Tuesday December 3, the evening of December 3 and lunchtime on Thursday December 5, the screenings will see the creators and directors introduce and show their films and discuss the creative process to bring them to screen.

C21’s editor-in-chief & managing director David Jenkinson said: “The AI Festival Screenings will showcase 12 projects that demonstrate what is possible using the technology. It is vitally important that the business gets to grips with generative AI and we are delighted these filmmakers will be at Content London to share their creative insights.”

LilyRose
Semerad grew up in Schenectady, New York. He played football and was captain of the wrestling team, and his dream was to move to New York City and become an artist. At 18 years old, he attended Pratt Institute to become the next great American illustrator. The fine art career quickly gave way to a career in computers and special effects.
He started QuietMan – now known as LilyRose – a few years later. It is an innovative company behind many firsts, including the first Beatles music video, the first Primetime Emmy win for a TV commercial and the first five-second TV commercials. QuietMan has won virtually every advertising award, Emmys and even a Grammy. It has also worked on more than 150 Super Bowl commercials, and developed a robust live-animation system that has been used on well over 100 projects. Semerad has directed many television commercials, across live action and animation.

La Fenêtre
La Fenêtre is a short documentary exploring reality’s boundaries with AI-generated images and introspective voiceover, questioning cinema, reality and AI’s role in our future, blending real and synthetic.

2067 Part II: Berlin
In 2067, Berlin is the centre of a revolution where techno music and brain implants create an immersive, euphoric experience. The implants allow people to feel music as a physical sensation, blurring the line between reality and pleasure.
The revolution that AI brings to filmmaking is transformational on a level we’ve never seen before. In addition to giving everyone a level playing field, we can also explore complex ideas and visuals that have never been seen before. AI opens up a new world of creativity and possibilities, creating a path forward that everyone should embrace. In the future, imagination will be a powerful asset, as we can instantly generate anything we see in our heads, which is extremely powerful.

From 2012, he travelled worldwide for eight years as a digital nomad.

Generation
Generation is a brief journey through the human experience as seen by the eyes of an artificial intelligence. It follows the journey of an interpretive dancer whose movements represent the depth and complexity of life itself. Through meticulous rotoscoping, her silhouette is filled with intricate AI-generated imagery, each frame crafted to reveal the chaotic beauty, struggles and passions of human existence. As she dances, her form becomes a living canvas where visual representations of emotions, memories and sensations swirl in a constant flux, creating a narrative that is both intimate and universal.
Creator Riccardo Fusetti had the idea to portray the overwhelming feeling of human life for a while, but it was only after experimenting with AI text-to-image algorithms that he really saw a way to visualise that feeling. The AI workflow allowed him to render every individual frame of the film as a unique and extremely detailed illustration. The film loops infinitely, inviting the viewer to choose how long to engage, offering new details with each loop.
