Cisneros ups Lopez for pay TV

Cisneros Media, owner of Venezuelan network Venevision, has promoted Cosme Lopez to the position of senior VP of pay TV channels and services.

Based at Cisneros’ corporate headquarters in Miami, Lopez will report to executive VP of content distribution Marcello Coltro, who was appointed in October.

Lopez, who was previously general manger of Venevision Continental, will oversee Cisneros’ pay TV multi-platform business and supervise telenovela OTT channel Romanza+Africa, a partnership with TV Azteca and XP Africa.

Last week, the digital arm of the Cisneros Group took a 50% stake in Latin American video network ItClickVideo.
