Cake takes Mike on walkies in Cannes

Broadcasters in Canada, France and Germany are on board French producer TeamTO’s animated series Mighty Mike, which will be launched at Mipcom by Cake.

The 78×7′ non-dialogue cartoon follows a refined pug with sophisticated tastes who longs for a quiet life but is instead forced to defend his house from a bunch of furry intruders.

It will air internationally in 2019 on Turner Kids channels such as Boomerang, as well as on Family Channel in Canada, France Télévisions and Super RTL in Germany.

UK-based Cake is handling international distribution, excluding France, Germany and China. It is an original TeamTO production with Canada’s Digital Dimension.

Corinne Kouper, senior VP, development and production at TeamTO, said the company had “rewritten the codes of animation” with the show, which features “photorealistic rendering that has until now, been the exclusive reserve of feature film special effects.”
