Charlie Palmer has been appointed managing editor of All 4, the service that replaced 4oD in March and that features online-only and recent C4 programming alongside box sets and live linear content.

Palmer will report to Richard Davidson-Houston, head of All 4 and digital content at C4, having previously worked in its audience technologies and insight division.

He will oversee All 4’s “multimillion pound” original content budget, which covers original commissions, acquisitions and TV programme extras and extensions, the broadcaster said.

All 4 is gearing up to launch Walter Presents on January 3 in the UK in partnership with Global Series Network, a service that will showcase foreign-language drama free of charge.

In related news, C4 has ordered The Windsors (6×30′), a comedy series that follows the lives of a fictional Royal family, from Noho Film and TV.
